Hello, my name is Steven Symes. I’m a full-time writer and editor.
My journey as a writer has been anything but straightforward, but oftentimes it’s finding joy along the way that teaches you the most. I published my first novel in 2010 and my second in 2012, but life took a detour and I stopped publishing books for many years.
I never stopped writing, because it’s my full-time job as well as my passion. In fact, I’ve published well in excess of 30,000 articles online, among other things. But I’ve returned to writing books since I feel the urge to tell my stories. With more writing and editing experience I’ve never been better-equipped for this journey.
I thoroughly enjoy outdoor adventures and staying active, something that will come through in my blog posts and other writing.
If you have questions, you can reach me on Facebook. Otherwise, leave a comment on one of my blog posts here with your contact info. Don’t worry, I won’t publish your comment if you ask me not to.
First off — I LOVE YOUR WORK. SciFi and cars!
I am a ‘wannabee’ Brit Roadster collector, having a 1978 MGB and seeking a 1973 Triumph TR6.
I also read your recent ’15 More Famous Film Vehicles.’ In the story about the ’32 Ford in George Lucas’s American Graffiti, you may have missed a little detail (and homage). The tag for the ’32 is THX 138. Lucas’s USC grad film was called THX 1138 4EB. Eventually, it became a 1971 feature film starring Robert Duvall called THX 1138.
It was George Lucas’s feature film directorial debut.
So, either that tag was a total fluke — or George talked to props department — asking “hey can you redo the tag?”
Ahh, trivia!

Right you are Frank about the license plate on the Deuce. There’s so much fun trivia about American Graffiti but I didn’t have time to cover it all. Thank you for being a reader and reaching out!
